Good question. We and my friend used to paint shirts with acrylic paint, just abstract designs. After many washes the paint seemed to be holding the fabric of the shirt together. Though there was some fading to the colors but not much. The paint seemed to be stronger the the material that the shirt was made off.
i think it might fade or break away after time. but there is a special solution you can get to mix into the acrylic for printing on textiles that provents that.
i have only gotten acrylics on my clothes on accident.they dont come off.i havent worn the clothes often so i dont know if it will fade.but for your tshirt project they may work fine
