If you wear DocMartens or other oil-tanned leather shoes. (you will know if they are oil-tanned if they scratch and scuff really easily, but polishing them only requires some mink oil)


becasuse not only will that ruin the breathability of the shoes, but the oil in the leather will keep pushing to the surface and the paint will discolor while wet and flake and peel once dry.





If they are fabric, PVC (man-made) or water-tanned leather-go right ahead.
Depends on the material of the shoes. Acrylic work great on canvas shoes. You will need to use a fabric medium to mix into the acrylic paint.
