Acrylic Nails, and what to buy?

okay so i just decided that i would do my nails myself. now i dont want to have the fake tips glued on. i use to get my nails done, and they would put this white acrylic stuff and let it harden on my nail tip. i dont know what thats called.





also what do i need to buy to do them? i was looking on youtube to se how to do them myself, but i just need all the supplies.

i learned to do acrylic nails in cosmetology school and have been doing my own ever since...i've saved so much money! and the more you do it..the better you get, so don't get discouraged if they aren't perfect the first time.





i prefer tammy taylor products, they are awesome! but if you don't have access to that, the products at sally's work well. it may just be me, but the most expensive acrylic products at sally beauty supple work best, and they aren't really that expensive. one of the keys is the brush.. make sure you have a good brush.





you need:





etching file/ rough file to take the shine of the top of the nail and sand it sort of


nail primer


premade tips, or the form papers (if you are going to make your own)


glue (if your using premade tips)


acrylic nail powder in pink, or whatever shade you like


**if your making your tips on form paper, you need white acrylic nail powder or whatever color you'd like for the tips


liquid nail...to mix with the acrylic powder


good brush to brush on the acrylic


files for sanding shaping and filing


buffer


nail oil..which i like to buff into the nail


and polishes

you can go 2 wal-mart and get a kiss acrylic nail kit i've never used them but this girl that goes to my school does and they always turn out sooo gorgeous

my honest opinion: dont do it. i dont like them on girls, and most of my friends dont either. they just look weird
