Is smelling liquid acrylic dangerous?

No i'm not pregnant or anything i just love doing my own nails. This morning I tried it for the first time and the stuff smelled HORRIBLE even the powder reeks. Then my mom yelled at me,a lot. She said that people can get cancer etc. from it and she won't let me use it in the house.It also burns your nose like crazy. So is it dangerous?and how do I make it smell less?Is smelling liquid acrylic dangerous?
Have you ever noticed how nail technicians wear masks when doing nails? It is because the chemicals in the stuff they use are harmful. Not for the 30 minutes or so a person getting their nails done are exposed to it for, but they are around it all day for hours upon hours. And passing by the nail salons just give me a headache with the stink of them, I wouldn't want that reek in my home either. No wonder your mom doesn't want it in her house.

First off do your nails outside somewhere or where your mom can't smell it and it is very dangerous to inhale it, you cannot get cancer but its still not good for you.
