on the spray tin but I'm curious as to whether anyone has done this on acrylics too as i have done a painting of pastels and have also used some inks and acrylics in the painting..Can I use aerosol fixative on acrylic paints/ink as well as my pastel and chalk work? doesnt mention paints..?
You shouldn't use the fixative on top of the acrylics. You use a workable fixative after you've drawn what you'd like to paint and then you apply it so that when you apply the acrylics it won't smear or smudge. But on top of the acrylic what you can use is Matte or Gloss Varnish, the come in liquid or aerosol. So you can pretty much choose which one you're more comfortable working with.
Here are some suggestions:

don't use that kind, its not designed for paintings- there IS a clear coat that comes in a spray can that is used for paint- check your local art store, they would know what it is and how to use it
You totally don't need to use a fixative on acrylics or ink, because these are permanent media - you only use fix on chalk/pastel because the surface is loose and liable to rub off.
If you use the pastels or inks first the acrylic will seal the pastels and ink to the canvas. The pastels are tricky as they like to rub off when you paint over them. I use chalk black on the canvas a lot of times with writing then paint over it. U can use just about any kind of medium on a canvas but some solvents like to eat the canvas away after years. I have used English oil and many other things. The only thing you can't uses directly on the canvas is oil paint. It will rot the canvas do to the acid bases in the oil paint. Have fun trying all kinds of things on canvas.
yes you can. I often use a mixture of acrylics, watercolours, pastels and chalks as you have done and it works perfectly. try and make sure your acrylics are almost dry before you spray your fixative though as you could end up with lines in your paint.
